Well guys,
Here we go .... I used my 9 foot Hardy Palakona split cane #4 rod with a DT-4F line. The sky was partly cloudy, windy and warm temps for this time of year. Saw lots of bugs in the water, some new very small fish of 1 inch size swimming in safe pools. There is lots of feed in this stream that's for sure.

There were lots of these characters running around ..... both dry

and wet .....

and man did they sit high on the water !!!!!

from out of this twinkling water came .....

The first brown of the year. A nice one of about 12 inches.

Then I came upon this bit of deep water. Up at the front was a deep slot and a BIG brown hit my stonefly nymph. I lost him but he was the brother of the dead one I found yesterday! I am not kidding!! He was that big! I took off my four pound tippet and put on 6!!!

So, I kept at it, when down in the corner I heard a noisy slurp! I went to investigate. Then I saw the slurp! But I had no dryfly that looked like a floating stonefly. So I tied on the next best thing .... a Letort Hopper!! And on the first cast .... hey presto!!!

A nice 17 inch Brown!

And I let him go to fight another day!!!
I had a good time fishing .... I left home at 10:30 am and got back at 2:00 pm. A nice few hours.
Should I start booking rooms?
