Updated January 1, 2008
At this time I do not have any puppies available. And, as you can tell from my website, I don't have litters very often as I breed for quality in temperment and substance which requires careful research into appropriate sires and dams. I breed for myself first, that is, to improve my teams, have better Mals to show and to replace oldtimers that have crossed over the rainbow bridge. I do not breed for quantity and quick sale as I intend for all my puppies to go to 'forever homes' and not end up in pounds and rescues. My next planned litter will not be until early next fall/winter (Nov/Dec 2008) or early the following spring (April 2009). If you are needing a puppy soon let me also know by direct e-mail as I have a couple of reputable Malamute breeder friends who's name and number I will pass along to you. If you can wait please read on ...

The Not-So-Fine Print on the Alaskan Malamute
Please ensure that you read the entire page
Many Alaskan Malamutes are turned in to rescue, returned to their breeder or "dumped" within their first year of life because owners did not research the breed well enough or accept certain traits in their malamute that are characteristic of the breed. I want to ensure that my puppies never experience this fate by making sure potential purchasers are more than aware of these characteristics and traits.
The Alaskan Malamute:
• is predatory by nature and must not be allowed to roam free as they will prove to be a menace to small animals
• should be leashed at all times unless in a securely, fenced-in enclosure
• is pack-oriented and as a result, may exhibit dog-aggressive behaviour
• may become dominant -- its human family must be firm, fair and consisent with training at all times
• is too people friendly to serve as a guard dog
• is a large breed who will reach 70-100lbs within its first year
• is a shedder, digger, howler, talker and puller by nature
• will cost a family approximately $1500.00 in its first year
Please read the following information about the Alaskan Malamute provided by the Alaskan Malamute Club of Canada which will help you to be sure that a Mal is the right dog for you. Visit About the Alaskan Malamute.
I want to be positive that you are sure, and that I am sure, an Ardistan Alaskan Malamute is right for you, so please fill out the application/questionaire form and submit it to me.
