Hey Frank,
I just thought I would attach one more photo of Tal that I really like. It is a picture of our little “runt” kitty and Tal watching her eat. He really likes licking the dish when she is finished.
I also want to tell you a little story. We went to Victoria for a few days last week and we left Talisker and Abbey with our friends. My girl friend’s mom has cerebral palsy, she has a service dog and another little dog. Every day she would go out to take her dogs for a little walk and let them play with Tal, Abbey and Axel (our friends Shepard). She was walking down the canal road and she fell. Her service dog was up ahead playing and Talisker was the one who helped her get up. Everyone is so amazed at what a wonderful dog he is and this just further proves it.
Well, I hope you are doing well.

Hey Frank,
Well our holidays are coming to an end. The summer has gone by extremely fast and it is extremely hot down here. We spent 5 days the beginning of July trail riding in the Cypress Hills Sask. It was amazing. You guys should definitely think about going there sometime. The dogs were all really good; they stayed back at the camper while we rode. Talisker was the hit of the campground, everyone fell in love with him and a few people wanted to take him home. It was 42 degrees one day and Talisker even got his feet wet in the creek. It took some coaxing, but I think he appreciated how refreshing it felt. (see attached picture)
Mike’s nieces just spent 5 days with us and they really conditioned Talisker on how to act around children, he was a very good boy. He continues to be an amazing pup. He is so calm and well behaved. He is also getting HUGE. Mike did a crude weigh in using the bathroom scale the other day and he weighed in at a whopping 55 lbs. He is already taller and longer than Fanny and Abbey. I don’t know if the pictures will show you how huge he is or not. I tried stacking him for you, but I still am not very good at it J His ears are still floppy, but every once in a while they stand up for a few minutes. He seems happy and healthy and really well adjusted. I am not sure if he is thrilled about living in the hottest part of Alberta, but I am sure he is glad that we have air conditioning and tiled floorsJ
I hope that all is going well with you and Sue and the dogs and horses. We are heading off tomorrow for Victoria for a few days. It is going to be so nice and cool there….I look forward to a break from the heat.

May 5, 2007 10 weeks update
Hey Frank & Susan how are things going? Things here are ok. I started a new semester this week so it was a bit hairy but I think we are past the worst of it. Jody has been studying hard at home, but I have a hard time feeling sympathy. Today she told me we need to get a bird feeder because when she was outside studying the bird songs were beautiful. Oh to have a shortage of a bird feeder as the rough part of the week. J As I am writing this she is standing over my shoulder correcting my typos and telling me how stressed she is with a large sh** eating grin on her face.
Oh yeah, and while I am typing this Talisker is laying at my feet sleeping. The rough part of his week is the growing. We took him to the vet yesterday and he did great. The only time he cried is when he had to ride in my truck with only Abbey, instead of the car with Jody and all four dogs. He has definitely settled into his family. Oh Yeah and the growing part is SERIOUS. Everyone says he is sleepy and lazy, I on the other hand believe he isn’t sleeping, its just easier to grow when you are laying sideways, that way you don’t grow against gravity. Yup he weighed in at 23 lbs. And no he isn’t fat. He is still as much skin and LOTS of bone as he always was. He still tries to sleep under the bed, but I think it is getting harder to fit. (surprise, surprise) I don’t think he will stop, he’ll just lift the bed up on his shoulders as he gets bigger.
We would like to again express how thankful we are for him. He has an amazing disposition and temperament. Last night my nieces were outside visiting with him and he was great. (the youngest isn’t even 2). We are truly lucky to have such a great ‘little’ guy.

PS we are looking forward to your visit next weekend.

The Family Character

Too tired to play!!
Pretty sits
Talisker has gone to his new home and family ....

"Here are a couple of pics. Just wanted to send them along and let you know that all is great here. He cried for about 3 minutes and then went right to sleep. Mike took him out a couple of times through the night with Bow, but he probably would have slept longer. So far we haven’t had an accident in the house. He seems to know what is what. As soon as we take him out he does his business, so all is great there so far. We know that it won’t last but we are enjoying it while we can.
We would both just really like to say thank you again for the wonderful addition to our family. He is a beautiful little boy that we already love to death. He fits right in with everyone here and we can’t tell you how much we appreciate that you brought him into our lives. Thank You again.
We are looking forward to talking to you and seeing you soon.
Mike and Jody"
